Murray State's head basketball coach, Matt McMahon announced the siging of 6-7 power forward Anthony Smith on April 18. Smith played last season at Barton County Community College and will be a junior when he enrolls at Murray State this fall.

"We are excited to welcome Anthony to the Murray State Family," Coach McMahon said. "Anthony had a great sophomore season at Barton County and will make an immediate impact in our front court. He will bring toughness, energy, and leadership to our team, both on the court and in the locker room. We're looking forward to his arrival this summer."Barton County head coach Craig Fletchal said, "I've been doing this for 30 years and Anthony is one of my all-time favorites. He works hard, he competes and he's a winner. He was our captain and leader. Anthony helped us to 43 wins here at Barton in the last two years. I like his toughness and his willingness to rebound. Murray State will enjoy having him for the next two seasons."
