Graves County beat Murray 40-24 last night at Murray's Ty Holland Stadium despite the absence of junior quarterback Ryan Mathis.
Cody Goatley filled in for Mathis, completing 21 of 31 passes for three touchdowns with no interceptions for 405 yards. But the Eagles rushing attack was anemic as they managed just 98 yards on the ground, less than four yards per carry.
Murray's Chase Merriss carried the ball 28 times and picked up 178 yards for 6.4 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Murray's quarterback, Hunter Utley completed 14 of 33 passes for 162 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns.
Murray plays Calloway County at Stewart Stadium next Friday.
